D&G Hoist & Crane Hire embraces CraneSafe

The recently announced purchase of all of Verticon Ltd’s Material Hoists and Tower Cranes, have
catapulted D&G Hoist & Crane Hire into Australia’s largest hirer of Tower Cranes and without a
doubt, the fastest growing Australian Crane related Company in 2009. The Western Australian
based Company has established itself as the Market Leader in Perth with it’s predominately Potain
fleet dominating the Skyline. D&G pioneered the introduction of Self Erectors in Perth and have
remained true to promoting new technology electric powered Tower Cranes as well as becoming a
major player in supplying Personnel & Material Hoists and Preston Platforms.
Dave Keating and Gino DeCesare own the Company, and their flair and progressive thinking are
an example for all in the lifting industry. No lengthy Board Meetings before a decision is made by
these Guys. A prime example of this is their decision to embrace the CraneSafe Green Sticker
Program for their fleet which will total 150 Tower Cranes when the integration of the Verticon fleet
in June 2009. There will be rapid disposal of many of the older cranes in the fleet and new modern
electric Tower Cranes, both Hammerhead and Luffing, will be introduced which will enable D&G to
provide a reliability not seen for many Years in Australia that has grown accustomed to 30 Year
plus diesel powered units, or second hand imported electric Tower Cranes that are past their
economical life, being the only cranes available.
If lack of suitable electric supply is an issue, D&G have this covered as well with their fleet of
available Gen-Sets. Couple this with the availability of a modern fleet of Personnel & Material
Hoists it is difficult to see how D&G will not be the dominate force not only for now, but also for a
long time into the future.
Why embrace CraneSafe? Gino, who is the marketing strength of D&G, will use CraneSafe to
demonstrate to all in the Lifting Industry that he is meeting all of his OH&S obligations and is not
afraid to show it. A CraneSafe green sticker will signify that all D&G Tower Cranes have
undergone a stringent third party independent pre-erection inspection and commissioning that fully
complies with Australian Standards AS2550-4&20. CraneSafe has individual checks for Self
Erecting, Electric Hammerhead & Luffing Jib, and Diesel Powered Luffing Jib Tower Cranes,
although the last of the four reports will be rarely used by D&G as they quit their old units that do
not have a place in their marketing efforts. CraneSafe also supply daily log-books for the same
range of Tower Cranes.

Company.
