PROJECT: Stockland development
CLIENT: ABI group
CRANE: Comedil 561/16, Potain MD365b-L12
Hoist: 4 x Alimak mid speed 24/32fc

D&G Verticon was commissioned to provide hoists and cranes for the recent Stocklands development in the northern suburb of Bowgowlah in Syndey.

The equipment included two cranes, a Comedil 561/16 and a Potain MD365b-L12 and four hoists, all Alimak mid speed 24/32fc’s.

The contract included the repositioning of the Potain onto a grillage on the podium mid way through the project, allowing the shopping centre to be handed over while the residential towers were completed above. The hoist serviced from the podium level so required specialized ground platforms to allow them to be accessed easily and safely, these were also supplied by D&G Verticon.

PROJECT: Sugar Dock
CLIENT: Bovis Lend Lease
HOIST: twin high speed

Bovis Lend Lease’s latest stage at the Jacksons Landing development required a hoist that could service 27 floors but comply with their requirements for safety and reliability.

D&G Verticon’s answer was to supply them with the latest technology non-counterweighted high speed machines, this meant that Bovis Lend Lease could still enjoy the fastest machines on the market while not having all the safety issues caused by flying counterweights.

Climbing of a tradition twin counterweighted machine meant that both machines needed to be taken out of service, leaving the site without vertical transport for an extended period of time. Non counterweighted high speed machines do not have this problem, being able to be climbed safely with one car only so allowing one car to stay in operation at all times.

PROJECT: North Shore private hospital
CLIENT: Bovis Lend Lease
Crane: Potain MR295
HOIST: Baoda 20/32

When Bovis Lend Lease decided to build stage two of the North Shore private hospital, they turned to D&G for both their crane and hoist due to our flawless supply of equipment for stage 1.

The initial contract was for a Favco 220D, but given that Bovis Lend Lease is committed to being a 5 green star rated company D&G Verticon offered to supply a near new Potain MR295 electric luffing crane.

Electric luffing cranes are not only more environmentally friendly than the older tradition Favco’s, they are faster, can generally lift more and are much more efficient. On top of the increase in speed and efficiency, electric cranes do not need to be refueled, so saving about 7% in production, over the life of the job this can equate to saving in the tens of thousands of dollars. Given all of these amazing benefits it was impossible for Bovis Lend Lease to go in any other direction.

Additional to the supply of the crane D&G Verticon was contracted to supply a single hoist. D&G Verticon once again offered the latest and greatest machine, being a Baoda 20/32  less than 12 months old. The lastest technology in this machine meant it completely complied with the requirements in sound ratings and vibration control.
